CPAPMax Pillow 2.0

To best appreciate this pillow you need to struggle without it for 2 months while you try and acclimate to a full face mask. After an exasperating 2 months of frustration trying to use the mask with a conventional pillow I took to the CPAP pillow the first night. Eliminates 80% of the seal issues with my mask. So there is at least an 80% reduction in wake up frequency due to air leaks. Then the few times air leaks do disturb me it only takes a slight repositioning to correct the issue, rather than a major trial and error repositioning episode which fully wakes me up and makes me angry. The nightly dance of struggling with the mask, the straps and fluffy pillows are over!

This is a firm pillow. I like soft and fluffy. Well soft and fluffy can’t work with CPAP so I had to change. Easy transition since I was determined to make it work. While it’s not perfect it’s light years ahead of a conventional soft pillow. Without it there was no way I was going to achieve the 60% compliance rate that BCBS demands or they withdraw financial support.

I am a side sleeper using a ResMed AirTouch F 20 full face mask. There was some minor new memory foam odor for a few days then it dissipated. I threw a queen sized pillow case on it to keep it cleaner longer. The pillow case does not interfere with function. I did not remove any of the foam inserts. I found the shipped height of the pillow perfect for me as is.

I was skeptical at 1st based on the size. Also, I have a creaky neck (nerve damage from surgery) & I wasn't sure the firmness would work for me. However, once I figured out the best position I was happily surprised! The firmness, "cutout" sides really helped my w/mask positioning. I turn a Lot (neck) in my sleep, smashing mask into my face...this pillow Eliminated That almost totally! Very happy with this pillow!

The quality of this pillow is good but the size is really small. I added the special pillow case to go with it, which is a rip off. For the price paid, it should at least come with a free pillow case. My husband and I both tried it and it didn't really work for either one of us as far as accommodating our cpap equipment any differently than with a regular pillow. Chalk this one up to another expensive gimmick that doesn't work.
