One pillow size doesn’t fit all
The design of your average pillow takes a one-size-fits-all approach to comfort. But most of us have pretty specific support and comfort needs based on our build, sleep position and preferences. One size can’t possibly fit all. The common pillow just doesn’t get the job done.

A Pillow Made for Side Sleeping
Side sleeping is the most common sleep posture — it’s comfortable and helps some people reduce snoring and breath easier. But most pillows are too low or soft. Side sleepers often have to stack, bunch or fold pillows to get the support they need. Unfortunately, these kinds of strategies fail to provide reliable elevation as you shift positions throughout the night. The result: a pillow you have to “manage” to get the support you need.
The Oxygen Pillow eliminates the need to manage a pillow by giving you personalized fit and contour. It matches the correct height and density to the elevation you need for comfortable side sleeping.
Back Sleeper
Most people who sleep on their backs or stomachs won’t need a pillow taller than 1 inch or firmer than a medium, unless you have a very long neck.
Side Sleeper
For side sleeping, height factors in quite a bit, as well as the broadness of your shoulders. If you are broad shouldered, over 5’8″, and/or sleep on a firm mattress, you will likely need a 1.5 or a 2, usually a Soft or a Medium depending on your preferences and stature.
Firmness vs. Height
Another rule of thumb is the firmer you go with the pillow, the more you might want to consider bumping down the height. For example, most people won’t need something taller than a 1 inch. If you want a Firm pillow, again the exceptions being if someone is very tall, broad shouldered, has a large head, and sleeps on a firm mattress.

You can also speak directly with the manufacturer, European Sleep Works, (510) 841-5340 and they can help fit you over the phone. They typically ask for the following information:
- Your height
- You sleep position (s)
- How firm your mattress is
- Whether you consider yourself to be broad shouldered, narrow shouldered, or have shoulders proportional to your height
- Same question, but for your neck: Long, short, or proportional
- Sometimes they ask if you have a larger or smaller head (think hat size)
When In Doubt
Lastly, people are generally going to want to go firmer or taller than what they need. The pillow isn’t going to collapse during the night and you won’t need to fluff it up. It is more common for you to overestimate your pillow needs than it is to underestimate. When in doubt, do a Medium 1 or Soft 1.5.
